Progress With Unity Podcast #208: Leeds review, bye bye Championship

Welcome to the end of the season, flavour text readers! As yet another highly eventful campaign draws to a close, one is left to reflect on the good times and ba-

(Guitars screech to a discordant halt)

Actually, I'd like to stop playing this rubbish and dedicate a song to Wigan Athletic's next manager, Phoenix from the popular mute a capella duo Phoenix and Blue.

Progress With Unity Podcast #207: Reading review, Leeds preview

Reading and Leeds Festival? Hah, more like Fields of Pain.

But fret not, dear flavour text reader, for your suffering shall be over in just a few days' time. The season will be complete and you can toddle off to Jimmybob's Quality Circus on Saturday afternoon once more.

"Wait, you mean we weren't witnessing that at the DW Stadium this year?"

Quiet there, Groucho.

Progress With Unity Podcast #180: Burton and Leeds reviews, Brighton preview

Adam le Fondre winning Man of the Match instead of Dan Burn? There's a conspiracy theory for that.

Of course there bally well is - there's a conspiracy theory for absolutely anything you could care to mention. Dan Burn's sudden upturn in form? That's due the extra sprouts in his diet, of course. How else could he have cleared that 40-yard strike from his goal line but with fart power?

And what happened to that long-awaited statue of Dave Whelan? Well... because it was made out of Cadbury's Dairy Milk, a group of passing chocoholics kidnapped it from outside the West Stand.

Send me tinfoil to make a new hat and I'll reveal even more next week... *hic*

Progress With Unity Podcast #179: Burton and Leeds previews

Have you ever wished PWU could consist entirely of previews? Well, someone must have because the Fairy Fatmother has this week brought you 40 solid minutes of forward-thinking Latichat. Also: farts.

Incidentally, due in part to Weight Watchers, PWU are currently looking for a replacement Fairy Fatmother. Please let us know if you possess a large wand of wonders or indeed a monster stick. Whatever one of those is.

Progress With Unity Podcast #119: Leeds review, Rotherham preview

Original pic: Anagoria / Edit: Illarterate

Say what you like about all the drama at Latics - it doesn't half make for an exciting podcast. And we'll be happy if PWU is half as interesting as the ongoing serial aired on Wigan Athletic TV, if those Paul Scharner out-takes are anything to go by! Happy Birthday, Paul.

Wait, another 'last stand' this week? At this rate we'll have more encores than that record stuck on loop in your local supermarket. But how long until the plastic is worn to a fine wafer? And when will someone get sick of hearing the same song and smash the player to bits with a Wigan Athletic inflatable hammer?

Progress With Unity Podcast #118: Blackpool and Norwich reviews, Leeds preview

Image used with absolutely no permission from Colorsport.
(Yeah, I'm feeling adventurous this week!)

Ack, typical. All we have to talk about for weeks is yet another Wigan Athletic loss, then when two wins finally come along we have more talking points than we ever could have dreamed!

With an emotional Mr Whelan hanging up his Blankety Blank chequebook and pen, the panellists discuss life before, during and after Big Dave's reign of glory at Wigan Athletic.

Also on the agenda is the issue of fan ownership as Latics United rep Alan Moore drops in to chat about independent supporters groups and... well, the usual off-the-wall nonsense. I knew it, we should never have recorded in a public house, with its access to alcohol!

Progress With Unity Podcast #111: Leeds, Sheff Wed and Bolton reviews, Birmingham preview

So is it No. 111 or No. 53? (c)Aleposta

Ahem, please excuse the intermittent shuffling of my feet, Geoff - in a somewhat unsettling turn of events, I seem to have been possessed by the ghost of cricket umpire David Shepherd. This recent Lancashire-Yorkshire rivalry has me in the mood for a spot of cucumber-tinged, smelly flannel leather-on-willow nostalgia.

Sadly the cricket season is a few months away yet, so we must be content with oversized balls for the time being. But don't worry, for summer (and hopefully Championship survival) will soon be upon us... or so I keep telling myself.

Progress With Unity Podcast #110: Watford review, Rotherham, Leeds and Bolton previews

"But I only came to wish you a Merry Christmas! And eat your flesh."

First, I have some bad news for you - this the last 'proper' PWU Podcast of the year! This means we'll be taking a 3-week Christmas break during the Wars of the Roses v. Rotherham, Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday.

But here's the good news - we have a bumper pre-Xmas special complete with mince pies, greetings cards and special guests from the hostile side of the Pennines. And maybe, just maybe, something else might be coming up before we next convene... but more about that as and when it happens.

Just try to forget the bad football and have a fantastic Christmas, podcasters.

Progress With Unity Podcast #83: Leeds and Millwall reviews, and Another Wembley Special

Let the above image be the final reference to last week's fixtures. From half time in the Leeds game, our minds have been 200-odd miles away in a big stadium somewhere in the north west of London. But our bodies will rejoin our brains at The Wembleton soon enough, for the FA Cup Semi Final beckons. Bringiddon.

Progress With Unity Podcast #82: Bolton and Leicester reviews, Leeds and Millwall previews

Just like Dave Whelan recently took control of Chonkin' Feckle for an early Cup Semi Final tune, Dan takes the reins for the Pre-Pre-Wembley Edition. Hey, you can't accuse us of being league-centric! Or perhaps you can, as we don't really talk *that* much about the Arsenal game. Just roll the tape, John...

In Studio PWU this week: Barry, Paul T, Dan, Rob and Gareth.

Progress With Unity Podcast #66: Coyle post-mortem; Leeds, Derby and Zulte reviews

We're normally a reserved bunch on the PWU Podcast, at least when it comes to criticising our own manager. But all professional integrity is banished as Owen 'Predictable' Coyle gets a terrible 'baller king', as that BBC Leeds commentator said on Five Live Sports Extra the other night.

This one's a must-listen as things get a might fractious...
