Latics are on the road once again on Tuesday with a trip to playoff hopefuls Wycombe Wanderers, the referee for the game will be Sheffield official, Tom Bramall.
Tom Bramall |
Bramall was promoted to the EFL as recently as 2018/19 season. During the preseason build up for the 2019/20 campaign, Tom Bramall suffered a serious ACL injury which kept him sidelined until February 2020.
Last campaign Bramall must have impressed someone from the hierarchy of the PGMOL as he found himself promoted to Select Group 2 for the start of the 2021/22 season, though I don’t think it was Latics fans that he impressed, he had two Latics games, both away, our 2:0 opening day defeat to Ipswich and the late February defeat at Peterborough, 2:1 where he awarded the Posh a very dubious penalty to say the least.
Tom Bramall has refereed Wycombe Wanderers on one previous occasion, their goalless home draw with Bradford City in League One back February 2019.
This season Bramall’s 24 games have consisted of 13 in the Championship , 5 in League One, 1 in League Two, 2 in the FA Cup, 1 in the EFL Trophy and 2 in the EFL Cup including our 2nd round tie against Bolton at the DW Stadium back in August, which we won on penalties after the game ended goalless.

We gained a great point on Friday up at Rotherham, playing in bad conditions we stood strong and showed our character to come through the game and it could be argued that we were unlucky not to take all the points.
Some top performances with Stevie Humphrys, Gavin Massey, Jason Kerr and Curtis Tilt all coming into the starting line up as Leam Richardson shuffled his pack, Tilt coming out with the Man of the Match award on the return to his former club.
Another tough away day on Tuesday with a long trip down to Wycombe, we have Wycombe supporter, George, who runs the Wycombe Way twitter account, as our guest opposition fan, he highlights who he feels are their danger men and gives us a prediction on the result, he does sound a little apprehensive about the game.
It is a full round of fixtures in League One on Tuesday with plenty for Latics sans to keep their eyes on as well as our game.
Up The Tics!
