Meet The Ref - Latics v Bromley

Latics are back at the Brick Community Stadium on Saturday, Bromley are in town for a first ever meeting between the two clubs, the referee for the game is scheduled to be Durham based official, Martin Coy.

 

Coy joined the National List of referees in August 2017, he is a former PE and Maths teacher. 

Previous Games

Martin Coy has eight Latics games under his belt so far, his most eventful one came in March 2022, our 2:0 home win over Fleetwood, issuing 3 yellows, all to our lads, Darikwa, Shinnie and Power and he also issued straight reds to both James McClean and Fleetwood's Joe Garner. 

His last Latics game came last season, our FA Cup 2^nd Round win over Barrow at the Brick, James Carragher and Will Aimson on the scoresheet as the tie finished 2 apiece with it being settled in a penalty shoot-out, 6:5 in our favour, Fraser Murray picking up the solitary Latics yellow card.

Martin Coy has only refereed one previous Bromley game, back in December 2024, a 1:2 win away at Accrington Stanley, Michael Cheek and Idris Odutayo scoring for the Ravens, Corey Whitely, Grant Smith and Danny Imray picking up bookings.
