Latics travel east on Saturday, a visit to Sincil Bank to face Lincoln City, in charge of the game will be Poulton-le-Fylde referee, Scott Oldham.
Scott Oldham |
Oldham broke on to the National List for the start of the 2017/18 season, his first game was a League 2 encounter between Cheltenham and Crawley which finished 1:0 to the home side
Since hitting the big time Scott Oldham has gone on to take charge of 162 games with a ratio of 3 yellows per game and just 13 reds in total, in fact last season he was redless across 33 games. Though he did have a bit of a mad fortnight earlier this season, issuing 13 yellows across two games, Sunderland v Plymouth (6) and Tranmere v Barrow (7), in fairness it was December, but handing out the wrong sort of cards isn’t really festive.
This will be the 39 year olds third Latics game of his career, his first was last season's 1:1 draw with Plymouth at the DW Stadium, Curtis Tilt finding his way into the notebook with both sides picking up a booking apiece as well as a goal each.
He was back at the DW Stadium earlier this campaign for our Pizza Trophy group win over League One rivals, Shrewsbury Town, Scott Smith finding his way into the book as the Latics progressed through to the knockout stage with goals from Adam Long (9) and Chris Sze (53).
Oldham has been in charge of eight Lincoln games previously, with one of those coming earlier this season, a 1:2 home defeat in the Pizza Trophy against Sunderland back in October.
Of Scott Oldham’s 32 games so far this season, 13 have come in League One, 13 in League Two, 3 in the EFL Trophy, 2 in the EFL Cup and 1 in the FA Cup.
Last Game
The last game that Scott Oldham refereed was the League One fixture between Accrington and Gillingham at the Wham Stadium on Saturday 26th March, the Gills won 1:2 and Oldham issued 3 yellows. The last game that he was involved in saw him as the 4th official in the Championship fixture between Peterborough and Middlesbrough last Saturday, the 2nd April.
