As the League One season is reaching its climax, the Latics travel down to the Pirelli Stadium on Tuesday to face Burton Albion as we look to secure an automatic promotion spot, in charge of the game will be Staffordshire referee, Ollie Yates.

Ollie Yates |
Yates broke on to the National List of referees back in 2016, his first game coming in the League Two meeting between Yeovil Town and Notts County on the 6th August, in the following six seasons he has taken charge of 144 games, none above League 1 level.
Ollie Yates has had two Latics games previously, his first one was our 1:0 defeat away at Charlton last season where he cautioned seven players, four from the Latics and our 0:2 away win at Wimbledon this season when he booked 3 Latics players and none from Wimbledon.
Yates has refereed Burton five times previously, one of which came this season, the Brewers 1-1 draw away at Sunderland back in February.
Of Ollie Yates’ 26 games so far this season, 11 have come in League One, 11 in League Two, 3 in the EFL Trophy, 2 in the FA Cup and 1 in the EFL Cup.
Last Game
Ollie Yates’ last game in charge was the League One fixture between Cheltenham and Portsmouth at Whaddon Road on Saturday 9th April, Cheltenham won 1:0 and Yates issued just the one yellow.

What a wonderful day out at Lincoln, great occasion and a fantastic three points, the lads played superbly well, Langy at his best and a top atmosphere in the stadium.
With the way the results went on Saturday the Latics are on the verge of securing promotion and it would take an almighty crash for us to miss out, Burton away on Tuesday and a win there will leave us with one foot in the Championship.
Tom Naylor is returning to one of his former clubs and he has a message for the Burton fans and hopefully we see him celebrating with his hands cupped behind his ears, if you know, you know.
Will Keane is now looking good to finish the season with a shout at claiming the League One Golden Boot, just one off top spot with six games to go. That would be a great achievement for Latics number 10 and a testament to the coaching staff at the club.
Up The Tics!
