Seb Stockbridge |
The 37 year old has been a National List referee since the 2013/14 season when he kicked off his career in the big time with a League 2 encounter between Fleetwood and Dagenham & Redbridge, that first season saw Stockbridge issue 7 red cards in just 24 games.
Stockbridge got his first taste of Championship football in his second season in the league when he took charge of our away day at Huddersfield Town, a game which ended goalless. He has only been in charge of three Championship games all of which came in that 2014/15 season.
An interesting fact, Seb spent time refereeing abroad in the Iceland domestic League back in 2013, a bit cold but lovely scenery.
This will be Stockbridge’s 8th Latics game, he last ref’d us earler this season, our home defeat to Lincoln back in October. He has refereed Plymouth on eight previous occasions, including their visit to the DW in September 2017, his last Argyle game was their 2021/22 season opener away at Rotherham back in August where they lost 2:0.
So far this season, Seb Stockbridge has taken charge of 33 games, 13 in League One, 13 in League Two, 3 in the EFL Trophy and 2 each in the EFL Cup and FA Cup.
Last Game
Seb Stockbridge’s last game in charge was the League Two fixture between Scunthorpe United and Stevenage at Glanford Park on Monday 18th April, the match ended 1:1 and 2 yellows were issued.

Last home game of the season on Saturday, and what a season it's been, quite emotional when you think about our journey over the past 12 months, a great deal to be proud of and the Latics spirit really showing through.
We had a tough encounter at Ipswich on Tuesday, but came through relatively unscathed, a point is a point and puts us on the verge of completing our objective of winning promotion, we are very much in the driving seat, a win on Saturday will seal it.
Hopefully we are set for a great occasion as we entertain Plymouth at the DW Stadium, a bumper crowd and a bubbling atmosphere, I can't wait to get down there and cheer the lads on, let's enjoy the day and make the most of it.
Up the tics!
