Latics face MK Dons at the DW Stadium on Saturday, the referee for the game will be Carlisle official, Anthony Backhouse.

The 29 year old Cumbrian is in his fourth season on the National List and as refereed the Latics on one previous occasion, our 1:0 home win over Northampton Town in October 2017, booking both Michael Jacobs and, not surprisingly, Sam Morsy.
He’s been in charge of two MK Dons games, none this campaign.
Anthony has already reached the top in one respect, he refereed at Wembley, the 2017/18 National League Play-Off final between Tranmere Rovers and winners Forest Green Rovers.
“Officiating at Wembley was a fantastic experience” says Anthony, “yeah but have you witnessed your team winning the FA Cup there” replies Barry.
