Looking ahead to tomorrow’s League 1 clash between the Latics and Ipswich Town, a quick glance at previous encounters shows that there is nothing to separate the two clubs down the years, though it is fair to say the Ipswich have had the better of things lately.
With no wins in our last seven meetings we have to go back to March 2014 when two goals from James McClean and a Leon Barnett effort gave us all the points in a 1-3 win at Portman Road.
More recently we have managed just 2 points from a possible 21 against the Tractor Boys.
The last time we won against Ipswich at the DW was back in September 2013, a
2:0 victory was highlighted by a wonder show from keeper Scott Carson, which
was sandwiched between a goal apiece from Ryan Shotton and Nick Powell, Powell’s
being a typical Nick Powell goal.
