Latics travel down to Wimbledon on Tuesday for a proper basement six pointer. Just two points separating the clubs, a win for either and they’re out of the relegation zone. The man charged with keeping order on the field of play for this game will be London based official, Paul Howard.

This is Howard’s first season in the Football League, he spent the past two in the National League, over that two year period he was in charge of just 34 games, he appears to be one of the EFL ‘new wave’ of young ref’s being fast tracked through the leagues.
Of his 23 games so far this campaign seven have been in League 1, eleven in League 2, four in the EFL Trophy and one FA Cup game.
This will be the second time Paul Howard has taken charge of a Wigan Athletic game and a Wimbledon game this campaign, he was in charge of our home defeat to Oxford United back in November and Wimbledon’s home win over Gillingham in February.
