Latics are back at the DW Stadium on Tuesday evening, the visitors MK Dons have made an impressive start to the campaign and are currently 6th in the table. The referee for the game will be Lincolnshire based official, Darren Drysdale.
The 50 year old official is a sergeant in the RAF and currently based at RAF Waddington. So he’ll be used to handing out the ‘marching orders’ if any player steps out of line, he does have a bit of a reputation as a tough man too, last season in the Ipswich v Northampton game at Portman Rd, Drysdale squared up to Town player Alan Judge after the diminutive striker had said something to rile him, watch your back chat on Tuesday lads!
This will be the 6th Latics game for Drysdale, his last one was one to forget from our perspective, the five goal drubbing we received from Blackpool at the DW last season.
