Latics travel down to Wimbledon on Saturday for a League 1 encounter with the Dons, the referee for the game will be Staffordshire official, Oliver Yates.
Yates made it on to the National List of referees back in 2016, his first game coming in the League 2 meeting between Yeovil Town and Notts County on the 6th August, in the following six seasons he has taken charge of 122 games, none above League 1 level.
This his will be Yates’ 2nd Latics game, his first one was our 1:0 defeat away at Charlton last season where he cautioned seven players, four from the Latics.
Ollie Yates has been in charge of five Dons games previously, with his last coming on 12 September 2020, away at Northampton, a 2-2 draw that saw a booking apiece for each side.
So far this season, Yates has taken charge of just 4 games, two in League 2 and one each in the EFL Cup and EFL Trophy.
