Latics and Hull City have met 27 times down the years, the first of which came in the 1981/82 when we gained our first ever promotion as a Football League side, we did the double of them that campaign winning 0:2 at Boothery Park and 2:1 in the return fixture at Springfield Park.
League Cup Clashes
We’ve played the Tigers twice in the League Cup, both at the DW Stadium, firstly, almost 18 years ago to the day, 12th August 2003, a crowd of 3,295 saw a 7th minute Lee McCulloch goal get us off to a flyer, Jason Jarrett banging one in late on (87) to seal the tie 2:0 in our favour.
4 years later, 28th August 2007, we fell to a 31st minute Stuart Elliot goal and go out the competition 0:1, this time a crowd of 5,440 turned up to watch the game.
