Latics survival battle continues on Saturday when Crewe Alexandra come to the DW Stadium for a lunch time kick 0ff. The man charged with keeping order on the field of play will be, Declan Bourne.
Declan Bourne |
This is the Nottinghamshire based official’s first season as a Football League ref, though he was formerly an assistant and has actually run the line at the DW, back in October 2015, Halloween to be exact, he was raising his flag several times as we struggled against a very dogged Swindon side that we eventually managed to beat 1:0.
Bourne was has been in charge of one Latics game this campaign, our goalless home draw against Fleetwood Town back in January, no cards were issued to either side in what was a bit of a dull affair. He’s also ref’d Crewe once, at Gresty Road in the EFL Trophy where they ran out losers in an exciting 3:4 game against Shrewsbury Town.
His last game was in League 2, on Tuesday 13th March, Morecambe’s 4:1 mauling of Scunthorpe.
Of Bourne’s 28 games this season 10 have come in League One, 15 in League Two, 3 in the EFL Trophy and 1 FA Cup game.
