Latics face Hull City on Wednesday at the DW Stadium, the man blowing the whistle, and possibly blowing hard too, is 58 (Fifty-Eight) year old Preston based referee, Graham Salisbury.
To say Salisbury is an experienced ref would be something of an understatement with over 20 seasons under his belt, though in all his time officiating he has only taken charge of two Latics games previously, our 2:2 draw with Bury at Gigg Lane back in October 2015, which was memorable for Craig Morgan’s last minute equaliser in front of the traveling supporters and our home defeat to Rochdale on the 15th December this season, which was also memorable, this time for a five goal drubbing by our Lancashire neighbours.
Graham Salisbury has been in charge of 20 games so far this campaign, six have come in League 1, ten in League 2, two in the Football League Trophy and one each in the FA and EFL cups.
His last game was the Harrogate Town v Cheltenham Town League 1 match on Tuesday 9 February which ended 0:1, Salisbury awarded 23 free kicks during the game (11:12), issuing no cards to either side.
