We’re off to Spotland on Saturday, barely 4 weeks since we last met Rochdale and no doubt still smarting from that December evening when they pulled our pants down at the DW Stadium and gave us a proper spanking with a five goal mauling.
Latics and Rochdale have met a total of 28 times down the years. Up until that fateful night on the 15 December, Latics had won every game between the two clubs since the 3:1 defeat away at Spotland back on the 8 March 1997; even so we have still only suffered defeat in seven games against the Dale in the history of our encounters.
Stand Out Game
The last time the two clubs met at Spotland was on a Tuesday night in April 2018, a large traveling contingent were in for a treat as Rochdale were swept aside, Latics, with goals from Dan Burn, James Vaughan, Michael Jacobs and the obligatory Will Grigg effort, consolidated our place at the top of the table.
