Latics travel down to the East Midlands on Tuesday to face Burton Albion in a League One fixture, the referee for the game will be Berkshire official, Sunny Singh Gill.
Sunny Singh Gill |
Gill was promoted to the National List of ref’s at the start of the 2022/23 season, in doing so he followed in the footsteps of his dad, Jarnail Singh who was a veteran of 200 games across the EFL from 2004 until he hung up his whistle in 2010.
This will be Sunny Singh Gill’s first Latics game, but he has refereed Burton twice previously, those two games came last season, a 3:2 win over Forest Green Rovers at the Pirelli and a 2:1 away defeat at Charlton, there was a red card in both games.
Last Game
Sunny Singh Gill’s last game in charge was the League Two fixture between Bradford City and Harrogate Town at Valley Parade on 16th September, a 1:1 draw, Gill awarded 18 free kicks and issued two yellows, both to Harrogate players, one for a foul the other for time wasting.
