Season Preview - Simon Gregory

 Si's Season Preview

Well what a preseason it has been. Administration, players leaving and an uncertain future. Not the usual off season we normally have. Everyone knows about our current situation so I’ll not go into that. Off the bat I’d say the main objective for the season is to have a club at the end of it.

Will we survive. My short answer is yes. The club has great fans and the support of the footballing community will pull us through.

Signings. These are slowly coming through on a short term deals but until someone comes in to buy us I cant see any longterm, big deals being done. I like the look of Viv Solomon-Otabor, he looks rather pacy and has good reviews from previous clubs. Gary Roberts, well he’s like a Bentley. Well looked after and will run for years delivering class, on and off the pitch. The young lads we have asked to step up look good especially Obi and Chris Merrie. It’s nice to see them getting a start.

Prediction time. If we get a buyer asap then have to chance to sign some players before the deadline I’d like to think mid table. If this drags on any longer, it will be a long hard season. Play like we did in the first half against Fleetwood then promotion (haha).

My one to watch this season will be Chris Merrie in midfield. A class act in the 23’s and has the potential to play at the highest level.
