Latics are in EFL Trophy action on Tuesday evening, Leicester City Under 21s are the opposition at the DW Stadium, the referee for the game will be Stoke official, Scott Simpson.

The 33 year old is in his first season on the National List, having been promoted during the summer.
So far this campaign, Simpson has been in charge of 6 games, four of which have come in League Two with one each in the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy. Those 6 games have yielded an incredible 35 yellow cards and a staggering 4 reds! Simpson has also awarded 2 penalties, clearly not a man afraid to make a decision.
This is the first occasion that Simpson has been in charge of either a Latics or Leicester City fixture.
