Latics v Cambridge United on Saturday at the DW Stadium. In the build up to the game it’s been a pleasure to speak with Jordan Worland from the ‘Under The Abbey Stand’ podcast to get the view from the away end.
Our last meeting with the Us, back in April 2022, saw us fail to capitalise on our pursuit of promotion and we succumbed to what was a surprise 1:2 defeat. We’ll be taking nothing for granted this time around.
Our conversation starts with the great start to the season that Cambridge have enjoyed, 6th at time of writing and just 2 points off top spot. We find out about the new recruits and the recruitment strategy, including two new faces at the Abbey with Latics connections.
Manager, Mark Bonner is receiving lots of plaudits, his connection to the club is strong but what about ambitions, is he the man to continue to take the Us forward and just how far can they go?
There is a look at a player who played for both and it is fair to say he is definitely a Latics legend and also a player that Jordan greatly admired during his time at the Abbey.
Of course we finish off with the ‘prediction’, Jordan giving us his head and heart choices plus a couple of players he believes could get themselves on the score-sheet.
Massive thanks once again to Jordan for joining us on the ‘View From the Away End’ podcast, check out the interview in the special below:
