Latics are back in action on Tuesday evening with a trip to the CBS Arena to face Coventry City in a rearranged Championship fixture, the referee for the game is Staffordshire based official, Steve Martin.

Martin has been working in the EFL since the 2012/13 season, his potential was quickly noticed and he had his first Championship game in his first season, he is now part of the Select Group 2 body of referees.
Previous Games
Over the 11 seasons since his debut, Steve Martin has taken charge of 362 games, issued 841 yellow and 34 red cards. not too bad an average just around 3 per season, though he did issue three in one game back on the 14th April 2015, Latics defeat away at Millwall, Jason Pearce and Martin Waghorn seeing red for us with Ed Upson going for an early bath for our hosts in what was a turbulent end of season game.
Steve Martin has been in charge of 15 Latics games previously, the last one coming in the final game of last season away at Shrewsbury where we were crowned Champions.
Martin last refereed Coventry earlier this season, their 1:0 home win over Middlesbrough on the 1st October.

Steve Martin’s last game in charge was the Championship fixture between Bristol City and Sheffield United at Ashton Gate on Saturday 1st November, Sheffield United winning the game 0:1, 8 yellow cards issued and a straight red.
