Latics travel up the M6 to Blackpool on Tuesday evening for a League 1 fixture, refereeing the game will be Lancashire based official, Ben Toner.

This will be only his second Latics game, Toner’s first was back in February 2018 when we beat Rochdale in a League 1 fixture at the DW Stadium.
If the name Ben Toner rings a bell that is because he was pulled from the Blackpool v Portsmouth game in November 2017, the match was the first since the Oyston family were found guilty by the EFL of ‘unfair prejudice’ in the running of the club, his name appropriately identifying what lot’s of football fans were considering the Oyston’s were, bent owners.
