A Two Year Transfer Embargo? Not Yet At Least

Just a very quick piece to try and clear something up.

 

Following comments made at a press conference on Wednesday by Gerald Krasner – one of the administrators currently working for Begbies Traynor – concerning a two year transfer embargo for Wigan Athletic I have sought to clarify the position of this statement.

 

After speaking with a Sports Law expert and an official of the EFL via a good friend, it appears that the possibility of a two year transfer embargo will only come into effect if the club fail to meet financial obligations once agreements with creditors have been made.

 

As such it is not in place at this moment.
