Progress With Unity Podcast #190: Rotherham, Derby, Huddersfield & Forest

Hippy Nude Beer, Latisticians! I would copy-paste the resolutions we failed to fulfil in 2016, but the text file was deleted along with over 10 hours of slanderous content sliced from 44 editions of the PWU Podcast.

Wait a minute, what's this in a cupboard marked 'do not open ever'? Well what do you know, it's a box of cassettes labelled 'do not broadcast ever'!

Well, guys, look out for a new series entitled 'PWU: The Naughty Bits' coming in 2017. It'll be the last thing we ever make before the Powers That Be enforce their cease and desist orders with pointy sticks, but it shall certainly be a fitting epitaph.

Hey, it's good living dangerously, ain't it?

PS. Don't search for 'Hippy Nude Beer'... unless you want to, that is.

Progress With Unity Podcast #186: Huddersfield review, Derby preview

"Three large salads, you say? Who orders salad from McFellaini's?!"

Hypocrisy, hmm? To those who claim your small time internet flavour text writer had been brainwashed by the Roberto and Caldwell Co., I say this: you're darn right. And goodness knows it needed a thorough scrub, because there was some *really* mucky stuff at the back of that brain.

While I won't write about Calds again (probably), I'll continue to reference the 'Martinez fallacy' (possession does not always equal success) ad infinitum.

In other words, PWU welcomes its new shorts-wearing, Owdum accented, (possibly) Bovril-swilling, mega defensive overlord... with a great big custard pie to the face!

Only kidding - he can have all the Victoria sponge in my pantry if he keeps feeding it to Yanic.

Progress With Unity Podcast #185: Barnsley review, Huddersfield preview

"For this statue, we give thanks."

Bet you wish you live in America right now, don't you? Not because you would be enjoying a tax-free Thursday off work, but because you would be as far away from those irritating Lancastrian podcast guys as possible.

...Sorry for the '70s joke (again). Have this statue of the PWU crew fighting over the mic as compensation.

Progress With Unity Podcast #114: Huddersfield review, Ipswich preview

Big Ben's final chime of the transfer window draws near... (c)Illarterate

The transfer window has less than a week to run, and those inevitable incomings and outgoings are finally starting to happen. Ahah, just when the PWU team needed more stuff to talk about! In fact, this edition was soooo loooong they had to cut it short for space saving reasons.

(Not really, the recorder's batteries ran out!)

Progress With Unity Podcast #113: Blackburn review, Huddersfield preview

The Big Draw. (c)Bundesarchiv

Question for you all: when were you this happy with a draw? Was it when King Edgar Davids pulled that magical ball from the velvety bag of wondrousness? When you won a tenner on the Lotto last Saturday? When you, er, drew the curtains to block out the glaring sun?

Those Progress With Unity blokes, by contrast, are never happy. Only when someone brings us free cake and biscuits do we crack smiles through mouths crammed with cream. Which is not that often, hence the return to Charlie Brooker mode of late.

But you'll be pleased to hear that this week's edition is the most positive so far this year. A juicy Championship point does tend to have that effect on you, I find!

Progress With Unity Podcast #97: Blackburn and Huddersfield reviews, Ipswich preview

That can't be McManaman because he's shooting! (Badum tish)

With all this talk of missed penalties, you might think this is a podcast about the England national team. But stuff international matches, because the aftermath is invariably disastrous for Wigan Athletic, regardless of who was or wasn't on last week's plane/bus/trike to Interglobia!

Never mind, for the multimedia televisual extravaganza that is Monday Night Football beckons. I would enjoy the game on telly, but, er, they won't let me take my CRT TV through the DW turnstiles.

Progress With Unity Podcast #96: International review, Blackburn and Huddersfield previews

It's chicken flavour, I promise.

We ought to stop saying we have nothing to talk about during international week, because we invariably find something that piques our interest to such an extent that the remaining 25 minutes of allocated (internet) airtime are exhausted analysing every minute detail of it. I won't say who got us riled up this week, but he may be known for his shorts. And I'm not talking about Walt Disney (again)...

Progress With Unity Podcast #75: Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday reviews, Cardiff and Barnsley previews

Ready your provisions! There's a lot to rifle through this week - two match reviews, two previews and exclusive interviews... all on the day of the Uwe Rosler/Jonathan Jackson fansites' forum! It's probably a good idea for me to stop wafflin' so you can get listenin'.

Oh yeah, and the full Rosler chat is coming soon. Keep thine eyes, ears and bananas peeled.

Progress With Unity Podcast #74: Charlton review, Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday previews

Tch, flipping typical. As the Progress With Unity 'casters emerged from the team coach to record this latest edition, irate passers-by cast rotten fruit in their general direction. See, Dan, this is what happens when you correctly predict a scoreline! Oh dear, the streams have been crossed...

If you aren't a fan of semi-obscure references, let's just say you probably won't want another hot dog after listening to this episode. At the very least, be sure to finish your tea first.

Progress With Unity Podcast #62: Huddersfield review, Rubin Kazan and Yeovil previews

Does it seem cold to you? I'll go and put the heating on while you load up the latest edition of the Progress With Unity Podcast, full of the usual nonsense such as refereeing incompetence and Owen Coyle's choice of shorts. And if that sounds par for the 'cast, believe me... well, it is. Hmm.
