Progress With Unity Podcast #193: Brentford review, Man United preview

Mummy, take them away! Why do the wide eyed men with cameras follow everything vaguely associated with the words 'Manchester' and 'United'? And while we're at it, why did they ban bad language at farting Salford Media City?

Those loud-mouthed and bushy-eyebrowed Wigan Athletic podcast men can stay as long as they promise never to film their episodes, or indeed utter the words 'screwed' or 'blast'. They should use more gentlemanly language!

Are the cameras gone? Good, now my boss won't know I'm bunking off work to write this flavour text.

Progress With Unity Podcast #128: A chat with Emmerson Boyce

In this constantly shifting modern football environment, to spend nine whole years at one club is an achievement to be celebrated. Emmerson Boyce must have watched over a hundred players arrive and leave in that time, all the while acting as a reliable anchor, the man to manage a thousand squads, Mr Wigan Athletic.

Progress With Unity is humbled to present an hour-long chat with Boycey, covering the the FA Cup, Europa League and what the future holds for Sir Emmerson. Whatever happens in the next month or so, I, for one, have been honoured to watch the great man at the DW (and the JJB) for nigh on a decade.

Cheers, Boycey!

Progress With Unity Podcast #84: Arsenal review, Reading and Burnley previews

Come on guys, cheer up. I can sympathise with your current grumpy mood, because losing on penalties is enough to turn the jolliest of football supporters into Charlie Brooker-style moansters. Not that the PWU Podcast team need such things to trigger heated debate on Latics-related subjects. Eee, Happy Easter!

Progress With Unity Podcast #83: Leeds and Millwall reviews, and Another Wembley Special

Let the above image be the final reference to last week's fixtures. From half time in the Leeds game, our minds have been 200-odd miles away in a big stadium somewhere in the north west of London. But our bodies will rejoin our brains at The Wembleton soon enough, for the FA Cup Semi Final beckons. Bringiddon.

Progress With Unity Podcast #78: Nottingham Forest Review, Man City and Sheffield Wednesday previews

Did you know that Wigan won the FA Cup with a 1-0 win over Manchester City last year? Well now you know the significance of this weekend's 'return leg' at the Etihad Stadium AKA The Colosseum. I've only one thing to say: where was Edgar Davids when we needed him? Should Sunday end with Wigan in the draw for the semis, it'll be time to draw up a petition to bring him back. We love you, Edgar!

Progress With Unity Podcast #76: Cardiff and Barnsley reviews, Brighton preview

Have Latics really played 43 matches this season? We might not be able to sell the television advertising space of a Premier League club, but at least we get to see more football, which, after all, is what being a fan is all about.

(Stares at Premier League table longingly.)

This edition is something of a covert Coyle post-Valentine's love-in, so the hardcore Roslerites may want to cover their ears.

Progress With Unity Podcast #75: Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday reviews, Cardiff and Barnsley previews

Ready your provisions! There's a lot to rifle through this week - two match reviews, two previews and exclusive interviews... all on the day of the Uwe Rosler/Jonathan Jackson fansites' forum! It's probably a good idea for me to stop wafflin' so you can get listenin'.

Oh yeah, and the full Rosler chat is coming soon. Keep thine eyes, ears and bananas peeled.

Progress With Unity Podcast #73: Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough review, Charlton preview

I had been searching my local supermarket for this new-fangled liquid football Alan Partridge keeps talking about, sadly to no avail. Turns out all I had to do was head down to the DW Stadium on Saturday for the Palace game. Ah-haaah!

Also this week, the 'Boro game is briefly discussed, while the coming weekend's feast of footy is given significant column inches. Or, in the case of the PWU Podcast, airtime.

Waitaminute... that's *Bobby* in the picture - wrong Charlton! I need to pay more attention during these podcasts.

Progress With Unity Podcast #72: Doncaster review, Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough previews

To all the fans taking to the Wigan highways for Saturday's showdown with Crystal Palace, remind yourself how lucky you are *not* to be on Chris Rea's Road to Hell. For an extra Owen Coyle-esque point, have the tune playing on your radio as you trundle along to Stade DW. For three, get that PWU Podcast on your generic tablet PC!

Progress With Unity Podcast #70: MK Dons review and replay preview, Bournemouth preview

For the benefit of those listening while tiling their kitchen, this week's episode of the PWU Podcast is presented in crystal clear crackle Dodgy Digital Tin Can Sound where available.

Dare I mention the 'magic' of the FA Cup again? Yes, because we might not be able to do so after next week. So here goes: theFACupisthegreatestthingeverandyoushouldloveit... etc.

Progress With Unity Podcast #69: Birmingham, Burnley and Derby review, MK Dons preview

January already? Uh oh, the season starts here so it's time for the Progress With Unity team to take it all seriously again. Hahah, fat chance o' that! Welcome to a whole new year of irrelevance and irreverence with the PWU Podcast, still the most popular Wigan Athletic fan podcast on the web.

(Well, it's the only Latics fan podcast but don't tell anyone!)

Progress With Unity Podcast #46: Villa, season review

Following a season of extreme pleasure and pain, the Progress With Unity Wigan Athletic Podcast team collect at the place where it all started, Sharpy's Fish and Chip Restaurant, to reminisce over ten months of madness. The obligatory end of season awards form the bulk of this week's offering, which looks back on a successful season for this humble small town club.

Progress With Unity Podcast #45: Arsenal and Cup Final review, Villa preview

Well, I never. How on earth did that happen? Not the relegation but Latics winning the FA Cup. I am lost for words to describe this past weekend, and not just because my voice has completely disappeared. Instead of detailing the minutiae of the afternoon, I shall pass you over to a delighted PWU team...

Progress With Unity Podcast #44: FA Cup Final Special

It's almost here, the day we've been waiting for since 1932. On Saturday we shall witness Little Wigan's first FA Cup Final at the birthplace of football (maybe), Wemberlee Stadium. Millwall was the aperitif, but this weekend sees the beef 'n' chips main course of legend.

Mumble mumble Swansea mumble... and don't forget the FA Cup Final! Did I mention Wigan are in the FA Cup Final?

Progress With Unity Podcast #38 - Norwich preview, yet more Wembley build up

A blank week offers the chance to regroup, though there is still much for the Progress With Unity Wigan Athletic Podcast team to discuss. Naturally, Wembley is on everyone's mind, but we must set feet firmly on planet Earth and concentrate on the week-to-week grind. As they say, keep going with yer head down.

On air this week: Barry, Dan, Gareth, Paul and Greg.

Progress With Unity Podcast #36 - Cup fever & Newcastle preview

There's nothing like a good FA Cup win to lift the mood! The Progress With Unity Wigan Athletic Podcast team are understandably in high spirits and can't help but chat about the weekend at great length and with great cheer. But for consistency's sake we felt the need to briefly touch upon the weekend's crunch clash with Newcastle as well.

Progress With Unity Podcast #35 - Liverpool review (groan), Everton preview

The Progress With Unity Podcast is back for more opinionated discussion on a veritable Scouse sandwich of fixtures. Question of the week: which is more important, the League or the Cup? As usual, views are split down the middle. Good job, because it's more interesting that way, eh?

Progress With Unity Podcast #30 - Macclesfield & Stoke review, Southampton preview

Progress With Unity Podcast #29 - Sunderland review, Macclesfield and Stoke preview

A slightly depleted Progress With Unity Podcast contingent this week, but as ever there's much to discuss. Inescapable negativity abounds, following the disappointing defeat to Sunderland on Saturday.

Cynicism surrounding the Premier League's financial hierarchy is quickly subdued by the thought of a potentially magical FA Cup away day at Macclesfield this weekend.

But of course, we just *had* to deliver a healthy dose of realism in our preview for the forthcoming clash with Stoke. Sigh...
