It’s FA Cup 3^rd round time, Latics travel down to Bedfordshire to face fellow Championship side Luton Town at Kenilworth Road. The referee for the game will be County Durham official, David Webb

David Webb made his debut in the EFL taking charge of the Bury v Brentford League Two match back in August 2008, whatever happened to those two clubs? 

He is now in his 15^th season as a professional ref.

So far in his career, David Webb has taken charge of 509 games, issued 1391 yellow and 62 red cards, pointing to the penalty spot on 101 occasions.

44 year old Webb has previously taken charge of 16 Latics games, of which we have won 8 and drawn 4, losing 4, a lucky ref for us? We will see.

The last time David Webb was officiating in a Wigan Athletic fixture was our 0:1 home defeat to Reading back in September, not so lucky then.

David Webb has refereed Luton twice this season, Sheffield United were first up at home in August, that game finished all square, 1:1 and their away game at West Brom in October which ended goalless.

Twenty-one games so far for David Webb this season, seventeen of which have been in the Championship, his last game was Thursday 20 December, Norwich 1:1 Reading, he issued five yellows and awarded one penalty.
