Meet The Ref - Latics v Plymouth

Latics are back at the Brick on Tuesday, a rearranged League One fixture, following our cup exploits, Plymouth Argyle will be making the long trip up north from Devon, the referee for the game is scheduled to be Poulton-le-Fylde official, Scott Oldham.

The 42-year-old broke onto the National List for the start of the 2017/18 season; his first game was a League 2 encounter between Cheltenham and Crawley which finished 1:0 to the home side

Previous Games

This will be Scott Oldham’s nineth Latics game, his first was in our administration season and that was against Tuesday’s opposition, Plymouth, that ended in a 1:1 home draw, Curtis Tilt finding his way into the notebook with both sides picking up a booking apiece as well as a goal each.

Oldham’s last Latics game came earlier this season in our final Vertu Trophy Group stage game, away at Stockport County on a night that saw an epic downpour with monsoon conditions that almost saw the game abandoned.

Dara Costelloe equalising 7 minutes after Corey O’Keefe’s 32-minute opener for County, the game ending 1:1, there was a 30-minute pause whilst rain stopped play, the penalty shoot-out ended 7:6 in Stockport’s favour. Brenan and McManaman picking up yellow cards.

Scott Oldham’s last game in charge of a Plymouth fixture came in the league earlier this season, their 4:0 thumping by Cardiff back in August.
