Next up for the Latics in the Easter programme is an away trip on Monday to the Abbey Stadium to face Cambridge United, who are fighting for their League One lives, the referee for the game will be Cumbria based official, Anthony Backhouse.
The 30 year old has been a National List referee since the 2017/18 season; he was promoted to the Select Group 2 last summer and of his 20 games so far this campaign, 10 have been in the Championship.
Previous Games
Backhouse has refereed the Latics seven times previously, four of which came at the DW Stadium, the three away days all came this season, Blackpool, a 2:1 defeat in September, a 1:1 draw against Northampton in January and his last Latics game, the 4:2 defeat at Fleetwood, where Backhouse only lasted 40 minutes before having to be replaced due to injury.
Backhouse’s last Cambridge game came last season, their goalless draw away at Curzon Ashton in the 1st round of the FA Cup.
