Meet The Ref - Latics v Crawley Town

The Latics look to get their first points of the season on Saturday when Crawley Town visit the Brick Community Stadium for the first ever league meeting between the two clubs, the referee for the match will be Bournemouth official, Keith Stroud.

Keith Stroud

The 53 year old started refereeing way back in 1988 and made his Football League debut in August 2004. Stroud was promoted to the Select Group 1 of officials and refereed the Latics away at Reading in the Premier League in 2007, unfortunately for Keith he was dropped back down to the Championship after just two seasons, being replaced by Kevin Friend.

Since becoming a Football League ref, Stroud has been in charge of over 700 games, issuing nearly 2,682 yellow and 126 red cards whilst awarding 161 penalties.

Previous Games

Keith Stroud has 18 Latics’ games under his belt, the vast majority of which have come in the Championship. Of those 18 games we have won just 3.

Stroud’s last three Latics’ games came in our last season in the Championship, our 2:1 away defeat at Sunderland in October and the 1:1 draw at Millwall in December and a 1:1 at Ashton Gate against Bristol City in February 2023 keeping up his averages there.
