The former Denton PE Teacher was only appointed to the Select Group 2 of Referees this summer, going full time after just one season at Football League level.
Donners, as he is known to his mates, hasn’t officiated either QPR or the Latics previously, in fact his previous two games at Championship level both came this campaign, Hull’s 2-1 win over Reading at the KCom Stadium and Barnsley’s 2-2 home draw against Charlton last weekend.
In those two games he issued 11 yellow cards.
