Meet The Ref - Huddersfield Town v Latics

Latics are on the road again on Tuesday, a trip up the M62 to take on Huddersfield Town, the referee for the game is scheduled to be Poulton-le-Fylde official, Scott Oldham.


The 41 year old broke onto the National List for the start of the 2017/18 season, his first game was a League 2 encounter between Cheltenham and Crawley which finished 1:0 to the home side

Previous Games

This will be Scott Oldham’s sixth Latics game, his first was in our administration season, a 1:1 draw with Plymouth at the DW Stadium, Curtis Tilt finding his way into the notebook with both sides picking up a booking apiece as well as a goal each.

His last came last season, our 1:0 home win over Leyton Orient in March.

Oldham has been in charge of one Huddersfield game this season, their 2:1 defeat away at Reading in September.

Meet The FA Cup Ref - Cambridge United v Latics

 Latics are in FA Cup action on Saturday, hoping to gain a bit of revenge as we face Cambridge United at the Abbey Stadium, the referee for the game will be Northumberland based official, Zac Kennard-Kettle.



Kennard-Kettle, is a 23 year old protégé and is in his first season on the National List having risen through the local and non-league ranks at a rapid rate of knots since 2020.

Previous Games

Zac Kennard-Kettle hasn’t taken charge of any Latics or Cambridge United games previously and, although he took charge of the Barnsley v Reading League One fixture on Tuesday, he has spent the majority of his twenty games so far this campaign split between the EFL Trophy (6) and the National League (6).

Meet The Ref - Latics v Northampton Town

Latics are back at the Brick Community Stadium on Tuesday, hoping to build on Saturday’s result as we face Northampton Town, the referee for the game will be Feartherstone official, Aaron Bannister. 

 


Banister, who is a Rugby League fan and Featherstone Rovers season ticket holder, is in his first full season on the National List having spent the previous two campaigns serving his apprentice in the National League.

Previous Games

Aaron Bannister hasn’t taken charge of any Latics or Northampton games previously and this will, in fact, be only his second League One game. His first League One game came on the 22nd of October, he was in charge of Burton Albion’s 2:3 home defeat to high flying Wycombe Wanderers.

Meet The Ref - Barnsley v Latics

Latics are back on the road on Saturday, a trip over the Pennines to face Barnsley at Oakwell, the referee for the game will be Birmingham based official, Tom Reeves. 



On the National List since the 2021/22 season, Reeves, a graduate of Warwick University, spent five years as a PE Teacher before joining Coventry City’s Community team in 2018.

He is currently the PL Sport Manager working alongside former Sky Blues centre back and Head of Community, David Busst.

Previous Games

Tom Reeves has refereed the Latics four times previously, two of those games were against Crewe, a 2:0 defeat in the Pizza Trophy at Gresty Rd in October 2021, and a 2:0 win over the Railway Men in a League 1 fixture that same season, that game came in February 2022.

The third came back in August 2023, when a visit to the Toughsheet Stadium in Horwich produced the customary four goals to nil victory for the Latics. Reeves’ latest Latics game was our home win over Reading in January this year.
