Meet The Ref - Bristol City v Latics

Latics travel down to Bristol City on Wednesday hoping to build on the positivity of the last two games, the referee for the match will be Bournemouth official, Keith Stroud.

 

Keith STroud

The 53 year old started refereeing way back in 1988 and made his Football League debut in August 2004. Stroud was promoted to the Select Group 1 of officials and refereed the Latics away at Reading in the Premier League in 2007, unfortunately for Keith he was dropped back down to the Championship after just two seasons, being replaced by Kevin Friend.

Since becoming a Football League ref, Stroud has been in charge of 660 games, issuing 2,484 yellow and 121 red cards whilst awarding 150 penalties.

 
Previous Games

Keith Stroud has 17 Latics’ games under his belt, the vast majority of which have come in the Championship. Of those 17 games we have won just 3.

Stroud’s last two Latics’ games came this season, our 2:1 away defeat at Sunderland in October and the 1:1 draw at Millwall in December, keeping up his averages there.

Stroud has refereed Bristol City twice this season, both Championship games at Ashton Gate, a 2:3 defeat to Sunderland in August and a 2:1 win over Preston in October.

So far this season Keith Stroud has refereed 24 games, of which 20 have come in the Championship.
