Latics are at Ipswich on Tuesday, looking to get the points to consolidate their position at the top of League One, the referee for the game is Luton based official, Will Finnie.

Will Finnie was promoted to the National List of ref’s at the start of the 2019/20 season, in the three seasons that followed his appointment, Finnie has taken charge of 92 games, issued 264 yellow cards and 12 reds.
Although Finnie hasn’t refereed a game above League One level, he has been the 4th official at 14 Championship games.
Of Will Finnie’s 33 games so far this season, 13 have come in League One, 12 in League Two, 5 in the EFL Trophy, 1 in the FA Cup and 2 in the EFL Cup.
This will be Will Finnie’s first Latics game, he has refereed Ipswich Town twice previously, both at Portman Road, a 3:0 win over Bristol Rovers in the 1st round of the EFL Cup last season and earlier this campaign he took charge of their 2:1 over Shrewsbury.

Will Finnie’s last game in charge was the League Two fixture between Exeter City and Colchester United at St James’ Park on Friday 15th April, Exeter won 2:0 and Finnie issued just the one yellow.
