Keith Stroud is a former top flight (briefly) ref, Stroud took charge of just one of our Premier League games, the Reading v Latics fixture back in September 2007, Reading won 2-1.

He was originally promoted to the Select Group of officials in July 2007 following a career which had seen him progress from the Wessex League in 1988 to the Football League National List in 2004.

Keith Stroud lasted just two seasons amongst the elite of English refs, he was dropped back down to the National List and replaced with Kevin Friend.

So far this season, 21 of his 27 games have been in the Championship, including our defeats away at Derby and Middlesbrough, both matches ended 1-0.

Stroud hasn’t had any Huddersfield games yet this campaign.

Latics’ related facts:

Stroud’s first Latics game was our away win at Leicester in our promotion to the Premier League season, a Brett Ormerod double securing us a two nil victory.

In the home game against Ipswich Town in December 2016, to the astonishment of everyone at the game Stroud awarded Ipswich a penalty when Dan Burn had clearly won the ball two yards outside the box.
